Meet our owner.

Luz Benedetti is the proud owner of L. Benedetti Draperies.

Luz was born in Barranquilla, Colombia and began sewing at an early age of 13 by following in her grandmother’s footsteps at her bridal boutique shop. She began doing alterations and eventually made it to manager of the boutique. Luz did this all while earning her Associates Degree in Fashion Design from Centro de Capacitacion Barranquilla.

At 25, Luz left her homeland of Barranquilla to seek a better future in Miami, Florida. She immediately began working making shirts, shorts, and sweaters for local factories in Hialeah.

In 2003, Luz moved to Naples, Florida where she began working as a seamstress for Keta’s Draperies. It was here where she discovered her love for custom window treatments. After Keta’s retirement, Luz decided to open her own workroom – in her garage!

After taking a leap of faith, L. Benedetti Drapery Designs, Inc. was officially established in 2014. We are proud to say that we’ve grown from a small garage workroom to a 3,800 sq.ft. shop in the heart of the Naples Design District!
